Sleek Solstice Highlighter Palette Review| Worth The Hype?

Sleek Highlighter Front.png

As you might know there is a big hype about the Sleek Solstice Highlighter palette, and so when I got my hands on it a few weeks ago I was over the moon. In today’s post I will give you my thoughts on it, and if it is worth the hype. Let me know if you have tried it out, and if you have what do you think about it? Get comfy, grab some tea and we’ll get into the review. I hope you’ll enjoy!

The palette is just gorgeous! It comes in this gold packaging which just makes it feel more expensive than it actually is. I truly love how sleek their packaging is. Inside you also get a brush, however I tend to use my Real Techniques setting brush to apply my highlighter.

In the palette you get four highlighters, one cream, one shimmer and two baked ones. In the pans they may seem to be very different from one another, but for example the purple isn’t just a streak of purple. It’s a highlighter with a hint of purple.

The baked highlighters are probably the most pigmented ones, but they are a bit glittery and don’t feel that smooth. However, they do give a gorgeous glow and you can build them up. The shimmer one is a but more natural, and you will need to build it up a bit if you want it to look intense. Personally, I quite like a more natural glow. The cream highlighter is unfortunately too dark for me to use on my cheekbones, but it’s very pretty on the eyelids. I noticed that the cream highlighter is a very light texture, like a balm almost.

I know that the swatches of the highlighters look very similar in the picture, but as you can see they can really get quite blinding! So do I think it’s worth the hype? Yes, I do however it’s not for everyone. If you like blinding highlighters this is amazing, but if you like a more natural glow with less glitter this might not be your favourite palette (of course you could go in with a light hand). Personally I quite like this palette, as three out of four highlighters work for my skin tone. It is a fun palette to have, as the highlighters have different undertones and you can use them for eyeshadow too. I also want to point out that Sleek have other highlighter palettes that work for darker skin tones or if this wasn’t your cup of tea.

Thank you for reading! Make sure to let me know if you have tried this palette out, I love interacting with you all<3

REVIEW: 5 Drugstore Makeup Products

Copy of Copy of 1571 Werninger St.,Houston, TX

Hi everyone!

I just want to start this blog post of by thanking all of you! Yesterday I hit 100 followers, which I am so grateful for. I never thought I would get this far, even if 100 followers isn’t a lot for some people it definitely means a lot to me. Everyone who comments, likes and follows my blog, I really appreciate everyone of you.
For today’s post I thought I would share my thoughts aka review 5 drugstore makeup products from various different brands.

I think anyone who has an interest for beauty has heard about this gloss, it’s the NYX Butter Gloss in the shade “Angel Food Cake”. The gloss is a perfect mauve, it looks a lot more pink on the picture than in real life. After hearing everyone talking about it I decided I would give it a try, as I usually wear gloss on an everyday basis I thought it would be fun to see what the hype is about. The butter glosses come in a wide range of colours- they even made another range called intense butter gloss which I am curious to try. It isn’t sticky at all, yet it lasts longer than most of my glosses because of the thicker formula. I totally glides on to the lips like butter, and I think if you like lip gloss you should definitely try out the butter glosses from NYX.

The next product is this Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner by Maybelline. This is a felt tip eyeliner, which isn’t really my favourite when it comes to eyeliner. I definitely prefer a brush tip over felt tip. I have still used this eyeliner and with some patience I can make it work. However if you like felt tips you should definitely try it out as it has got a really slim tip, and is really black. So overall a great eyeliner, just not my cup of tea.

How cute is this?? It is the Lush Scrubee body butter and moisturiser kind of thing, and I adore it! I feel like I have mention this in all of my recent posts so I am going to keep it short, but basically you use the side with the stripes as a scrub and the other side as a moisturiser. This just smells amazing first of all, a sweet honey and vanilla kind of smell. I have been using this a load recently, first of all using the scrubbing side (which for your information contains coconut shells which is so much better than those plastic beads), rinsing it off and turning it to the other side to use that as a moisturising body butter. When you get out of the bath/shower you’re skin feels like you put lotion on (a bit sticky), however it soaks in fast and leaves your skin smelling amazing. Highly recommend, especially for dry skin!

Next is this ELF Translucent Mattifying Powder, which is basically a blotting powder for oily skin. I don’t have that oily skin, I have that oily teenager t-zone problem but otherwise I have mainly dry skin. For people who have oily skin this would probably be amazing to just have on the go, but it doesn’t really suit my skin. I have been using this a setting powder for setting my concealer in my t-zone, but I have noticed that it does make it look a bit cake-y especially on breakouts. It does make my concealer last all day, but it is obviously not for my skin type.

Lastly is this NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in the shade “blonde”. Again, I feel like I have mentioned this in all my recent posts, but basically it is the perfect colour match for my eyebrows, and you get all you need in this little kit. It comes with two brow powders, a darker and a lighter one. They are really amazing brow powders as there is next to no fall out, really pigmented and seamlessly “melts into” the eyebrow and doesn’t budge at all. You also get a wax, which I was surprised to like. After you have applied the wax it doesn’t feel sticky and it doesn’t look glossy either. You also get a spolee brush and an angled brush, but I tend to stick to my own brushes. It has quickly become a favourite, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something that looks a bit more natural on the brows.

Thank you for reading as always, ilysm

September Beauty Favourites 2017

Copy of 1571 Werninger St.,Houston, TX

Having tried out quite a few new beauty products these past few weeks, I have definitely found some favourites- but also some misses. In this post I thought I would share my favourites of September, some of them you might recognise from past posts of mine and some of them I haven’t really mentioned at all. I hope you enjoy!

I have literally been using this so much, this is the only mascara I have been using!
This is the Maybelline Colossal Volume Express mascara, I got it from Feelunique about three months ago I think. The wand is pretty big, but I have got used to it and I love the final result I get with it. It claims to not clump, but still give volume which I totally agree on. I personally don’t like clumpy lashes on myself, and so I am happy that I have found a mascara that gives me separated, yet voluminous lashes. It hardly flakes at all, lasts for a very long time and I am over all really impressed with this mascara considering the inexpensive price.

My next favourite is this Lush Scrubee, which is a body butter and scrub in one. This smells absolutely divine, yet I can’t really put my finger on what it smells like. I guess honey, and maybe vanilla? Something sweet and kind of milky. When I use this I tend to use the sides with the stripes first, the scrubbing side. I then rise it off, and use the other side as a moisturising body butter. I just think it so easy to use, and would be especially good in the winter time on dry skin as it kind of feels like you have put moisturiser on when you get out of the shower. It can feel a bit sticky, put it soaks in quite fast and leave your skin smelling slightly of this little delicious scrubee.

This past month this has been my favourite product to use for my eyebrows, and it is the Nyx Eyebrow Cake Powder in the shade “blonde”. It is a little compact that comes with two brow powders, a wax, a angled brow brush and a spolee brush, you get everything you need basically! The powders are a perfect match for my eyebrows, they aren’t chalky and they stay all day even without the wax. I don’t tend to use the wax every time, but it is still a really good wax as it isn’t too sticky or glossy. It’s nice to have if you just want some more shape, and to make sure that the brow hairs stay in place. I usually use my own brushes, and not the tools but I guess they are better than nothing.
Over all I was really impressed at the quality of this, and how easy it is to use when you want your brows to look more natural.

I have mentioned these before, but I just love them and I have been using them tons! These are the Viva La Diva Superlicious lip glosses, in the shades “Ice cube” and “Romance”. They are some of the best lip glosses I have tried, they just glide on the lips so beautifully and they aren’t sticky at all. Unfortunately they are hard to get if you live outside of Scandinavia, but they might be available online. They are amazing, and I just had to mention them again.

These are The Body Shop hand creams in “Mango” and “Vanilla Chai”, both of them smell amazing and have been some of my favourites for quite a while now. I have very dry hands in the winter, and so I have a very thick cream on my hands under the night. These hand creams I tend to use in the day, they are not as thick, and they soak in to the skin fast. They also come in loads of different scents, there is definitely something for anyone! The vanilla chai hand cream is a christmas edition (sadly, as it smells like cinnamon buns, vanilla, christmas, baking HEAVEN) but the mango one you can get all year round.

I promise that this is the last thing, I apparently had quite a lot of favourites this month. This is the Maybelline Fit Me concealer, and mine is in the shade 15. You have probably heard half of the internet talk about this, so I am not going to ramble on for too long. It’s got quite full coverage, lasts long on the skin and is just an all round amazing concealer especially considering the price. The only thing I have noticed is that it gets quite messy around the outside of the packaging, but I love the actual concealer so I don’t really mind.

Thank you so much for reading as always,
/Alice xx

Big Collective Beauty Haul| NYX, Sleek, B&BW, and more!

Hi everyone!

I want to start of by apologizing that I haven’t posted for three weeks! I have had some technical difficulties (gosh that sounded posh), and so I haven’t been able to post. It was truly devastating as I had a schedule going and everything. But I am glad to be back, and I am doing a comeback with a huge beauty haul!
Before we get on with the things that I got, I just want to point out that I got all of this with my own money. I got a bunch of clothing items too, so if you want to see a fashion haul comment down below and I might do one. Get comfy, this is going to be a long one<3

The first thing I got I think anyone interested in beauty has heard about, and it’s the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette. Can we just take a minute? It comes in this gorgeous gold packaging, it feels really sturdy and I also noticed that it has a magnetic closing which makes it even more luxurious if you ask me. With it you get your average brush, and then four different highlighters in baked, cream and a regular powder formula.
I honestly couldn’t be more happy with this, and I can’t wait to play around with it!

Then I got this NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder which has turned out to be one of my favourite brow products at the moment. When I was shopping I wanted some kind of eyebrow powder, and having heard about this in the beauty community I thought I would give this a try. I got mine in the shade “Blonde”, which is the perfect colour match for my eyebrows. You get two brow powders, a wax, a angled brow brush and a spolee brush. I just find it works really well for a more natural brow.

This purchase just turned out to be a fail for me, it’s the NYX Micro Brow Pencil in the shade “Blonde”. In the store there were no testers of this shade, and so I just assumed that it would work for me as the brow powders were in the shade blonde too. Then when I tried it for the first time it was way too warm toned for me, it looked straight up red. It did take me by surprise as blonde has always been my shade, and as I stated before the brow powders were in blonde and worked perfectly. As I have already used it I couldn’t return it, and so I am currently contacting NYX but I find there customer service very slow. I mean the brow pencil looks quite nice, it has a spolee and on the other side the actual product, but I can’t use it as it sadly is way off my eyebrow shade.

Next is my very first MAC Lipstick in “Velvet Teddy”, probably their most popular shade. It is a gorgeous matte nude shade, and I really didn’t think that I was going to love it as much as I do. On my lips it isn’t that different from my natural lip colour, which makes it very wearable for me on an everyday basis. Considering the price tag, I still think it is worth it. I am very happy with this lipstick!

How cute is this? This is a Lush Scrubee Body Butter and Scrub which smells absolutely amazing, let me tell you. I don’t really know how to describe it, kind of sweet I guess but I love it. On one side it has stripes which is supposed to be the scrub side which apparently has bits of coconut shell instead of plastic beads (how cool is that?) and then on the other side is the body butter. So you can start with the scrub and then just flip it over and use the moisturising body butter. I really love the concept and just how easy it is to use, I have used mine three times now I think and it almost still looks like it does on the picture.

The next thing is this NYX Butter Gloss in the shade “Angel Food Cake”, as you can tell by now I definitely got a lot of things from NYX. Anyway, this is me in a lip colour. I am straight up in love with this colour, and the formula isn’t sticky but quite thick I guess, which means it last quite long. Having heard loads about it, I had to try it and I am happy I did.

This is a Bath and Body Works Caribbean Escape Pocketbac hand sanitizer, which smells so amazing. It smells tropical, fruity and fresh, and it is a amazing scent for summer time. Bath and Body Works isn’t really sold were I was on holiday, however there was a store that had some products from them, and I was over the moon to see that.bbwtwo.jpg

The last thing I got is another B&BW product, and it is their Vanilla Buttercream Nourishing Hand Cream. This is a very sweet scent, don’t get me wrong it smells very good but sometimes it can get a little bit too much so I don’t tend to use it that often. However, it does moisturise and do it’s job and I don’t regret buying it.

Thank you so much for reading! I am going to try to get back in to posting once a week even if I still have a thing that needs fixing on my computer. I also want to thank everyone for still commenting and liking while I wasn’t posting, the support I get really makes my day!

7 Blogging Tips |Things I Have Learnt Through Blogging

1571 Werninger St.,Houston, TX.png

Hi everyone!
We all have our own ways of doing things, and blogging is no exception. You can blog however you want to, but I thought I would make a post to share some tips and tricks that I have learnt from blogging for nearly two years (has it been that long? time flies!).

Blogging is hard and time consuming, but these things do really help for me to turn a blank post to a blog post that I am hopefully happy with. Of course blogging is a lot of fun too, all the feedback and support really makes my day! I appreciate every single one of you so much<3

1. Have a notebook dedicated to blogging/ your blog:
I am a perfectionist, and I love organizing so this is simply perfect for me. I have had a notebook dedicated to blogging for a while now, and it has truly helped me out with my blog. Of course you could have some kind of equivalent app that helps you keep track of all your notes on your devices, but I chose to do it this way instead. You could write down anything from blog post ideas, a posting schedule, to stats and to do lists. I have been using my notebook to plan posts (like this one!), set goals and many other things. I highly recommend this to those of you who just wants to plan and keep track of your blog!

(The notebook on the picture is from Lagerhaus)

2. Interact with other bloggers:
Interacting with other bloggers is so important! I personally love to interact with others, because you kind of get to know them by reading their posts and and then commenting. You can find bloggers who have the same interests as you, get to know them and support each other. I get very motivated when I get comments, and just support in general from other bloggers.

3. Have a schedule for when you are going to upload blog posts:
I think it is quite good to have a schedule so that your followers know when you are going to upload, but also for yourself. Your followers might not even be aware that you have a schedule, but for me personally a schedule makes me actually write the blog posts. If I know that I “have to” have a blog post up on a specific day, I will make sure to write them in time. For example, I upload once a week on Mondays but you could also upload every five days or something like that. It might be different from blogger to blogger, but I prefer to have a schedule over not having one.

(Can someone count how many times I said “schedule” in that paragraph??)

4. Organize your blog:
This one does kind of go hand in hand with the last one, but I thought I would mention it anyway. You can create different pages, add tags and categorize your posts, it’s a dream  for me being a fan of organizing. In my opinion I feel more intrigued to follow somebody’s blog if I can see that it is organized, that it has a structure.
Your blog posts can be the opposite of organized, but organizing your blog can just make everything look more put together.

5. Quality over quantity:
As I said before, I am an perfectionist and to upload posts that I don’t really like because I didn’t spend enough time on them just wouldn’t be ideal for me. I would probably not be motivated to continue blogging either. I just prefer to upload less posts that I have spend time on, then more posts that I’m not really happy with. People would probably notice that there isn’t really a lot of thought and time put in to the posts either. Then again there are a few bloggers who can write great blog posts in a shorter amount of time too, but that’s not really anything I manage to do.

6. Customize and play about with themes/ your blogs layout:
There is so much you can customize and change with different kinds of themes! I try to customize my blog and change things up quite often, but to be honest I am not the best at it. Even with the free WordPress blogs there is quite a lot of things you can do to change your blog, like widgets, backgrounds, etc. I think it’s worth to try customizing your blog, it can really change your blog!

7. Be you!
If there is one tip you should take from this blog post, it’s this one!
Don’t waste your time writing blog posts that aren’t you! You have the right to blog about whatever you want (as long as you aren’t mean to others of course)! You can stick to what you know and love, but also try writing posts that are different to any other posts that you have done before. There are no guides to blogging, imagine how boring it would be if everyone’s blogs were almost the same to one another! Every blog is different, I think that’s what makes blogging so special. There isn’t one blog that is the same as yours!

I hope you enjoyed this slightly different post, and thank you so much for reading as always!

My H&M Beauty Products and Reviews

Hi everyone!
In this post I will be sharing with you all my thoughts on H&M’s own beauty products! I remember a while back when H&M only had few bits and bobs in their own beauty range, and if I am going to be honest I wasn’t really that impressed. However a little while ago they revamped and created new beauty products. There was quite a lot of hype, and the whole beauty community was taken by surprise, (it’s enough now Alice, it legit sounds like you are reading a fairytale)!

So the first thing is the H&M Eye Colour in the shade Fairytale. This is a eyeshadow stick that you are supposed to apply to the lid, blend and you are ready to go. Eyeshadow sticks are such a handy thing in my opinion, however I feel like it is quite a hard formula to nail. I got this in my local H&M store, and I was really intrigued by the price! This one is a gorgeous rosé, silver glitter shade.

I can’t give you a full on review as I haven’t used it many times, but it’s quite good I guess. It definitely was creamier than I had expected, and it was quite pigmented, but you have to work with it and apply several layers to get it quite opaque. Now I don’t know about the other shades of these sticks, but this one didn’t blend out that easily without fading. I used it on my lid, and blended some eyeshadows in the crease and then I had to re apply it on the centre of the lid. The outcome that turn out pretty though.

Next is this lip gloss from their older range in the shade Lotus Flower. I have had this lip gloss for a while now, so they don’t sell it any more and therefore I was a bit hesitant to mention it. This lipgloss gives a pretty, glossy pink tint to the lips, as well as it smells really good! But I just can’t stand it because it is way too sticky, it’s just not comfortable and so I never reach for it because of that.

I have these dual ended brushes, the one with the spolee is called the brow and lash brush, and I am not sure what the other one is called. I am guessing eye blending brush??

If you saw my Everyday Summer Makeup Routine you will know that I have been using the brow and lash brush every time I do makeup, as I have actually really enjoyed it. It just has a regular spolee that works as well as any other spolee. You also get a small angled brow brush, which I do quite like.
I however just didn’t really like the blending eye brush that much. Personally, I prefer other eye brushes, like my Real Techniques ones. I just don’t use it, however it is quite a good beginners brush for anyone who wants to start out with makeup, especially as these brushes are very affordable.

Was I the only person who heard quite a lot about these nail polishes? I ended up picking up two of these nail polishes from their new range, in the shades “Ice Cold Milk” and Purple Aura”. These are nail polishes that you have to layer for them to become opaque, but the result turns out really pretty and they last surprisingly long (at least with some Seche Vite top coat). For the price I definitely think it’s worth a try, and you’ll probably find one that you like because there are SO many different ones to choose from.

Then lastly, I have another product from their older range. This came in a set of a basic red and this glittery red polish, but I got rid of the red one as I simply did not like it. I kept this one as I liked that it applied a lot of glittery goodness on to the nails, and it looked really pretty and festive. Then again, they don’t sell this any more, but you can probably find something similar if you are looking for something like this.

Thank you so much for reading as always lovely! You’re support makes my day and I couldn’t be more grateful.

The Awesome Blogger Award

Processed with Rookie Cam

Hi everyone!
A little while back I got nominated by the lovely Everything Me to do the awesome blogger award, make sure to go and give her a follow! This award is themed around nominating other bloggers that you think are simply awesome, which I will do at the end of this post. Thank you for nominating me Everything Me, I really appreciate it!

The “Rules” Of The Award:

  1. Thank your nominator and link their blog
  2. Insert the award banner
  3. Answer their questions
  4. Nominate 5+ people and give them 10 questions of your own

1. What’s your favourite season?
I would have to say either spring or summer, I just love when it starts to get warmer and brighter. In the summer I also break up from school which is a plus haha!

2. What’s your favourite book you have read so far this year?
That’s a hard question! I haven’t really read that many books this year, as I just haven’t found that many that I want to read. I feel like I am in a period were I am kind of changing what type of books I like to read. One book that I found really interesting and I loved, was “Ibland mår jag inte så bra” by one of my favourite YouTubers. Yes it is a Swedish book, but I still wanted to mention it. Also, I want to mention a book called “Since you have been gone” by Morgan Matson. However I did read it last year, but I really loved it!

3. What are you most looking forward to in the coming months?
My holiday! I am so excited to finally get away for a bit, as it doesn’t happen that often.

4. If you could read a book about the rest of your life, would you?
No, definitely not. I just feel like it would be so boring knowing what is going to happen the rest of your life, it would just feel like your whole life is planned to be a certain way and you wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.

5. Is there anything you regret not doing in your life?
I honestly don’t know, I am only a teenager and I haven’t lived that many years. There are a few things I regret not doing, but they aren’t big things and not anything I feel like sharing on the internet<3

6. What is your favourite photo you’ve ever taken (and if can you insert it)?
Being a blogger I have taken a lot of pictures, and having to choose only one is quite hard. I can insert one that I have taken that I really like, so one of my favourites.

7. What are your favourite hobbies (apart from blogging)?
One of my favourite hobbies is gymnastics, I am a gymnast and I would love to do some gymnastics related posts, I am just not sure if any of you would like to see that? I also love dancing, I have taken dance lessons in the past but I ended up choosing gymnastics instead. Other than that, I don’t really know. I mean I do love baking and stuff like that too.

8. What’s your favourite shop to buy clothes from?
I would probably say H&M, but of course I have other ones that I like too.

9. Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years time?
I am not sure, but I hope I have continued to do what I love and also know what I want to do in the future. Otherwise, I don’t really know?

10. What is your favourite blog post you have ever written?
I can definitely say that I am a perfectionist, and of course some blog posts turn out better than others. I think it’s either my Tanya Burr Illuminating Powder Highlighter First Impressions and Review or A Little FeelUnique Beauty Haul.

My questions for the nominated bloggers:

1. What is your favourite quote?
2. What language would you like to learn?
3. Do you know what your name means, and if so what does it mean?
4. What do you love the most about blogging?
5. When you were little, what did you want to become when you were older?
6. What is the most ridiculous thing you have ever bought?
7. Do you have any hidden talents?
8. If you had to swap blogs with someone, who would it be and why?
9. Do you have any “weird” food combinations that you love?
10. Who/what inspired you to start your blog?

I nominate:

Thank you so much for reading lovely!

My Everyday Summer Makeup Routine| Collab with Holly

Hi everyone!
Who is excited for another collab? I know I am!
This post is a collab with Holly, Make sure to go and give her a follow if you haven’t already, she takes some of the most gorgeous beauty/lifestyle pictures<3
We decided that we would each do a post on our everyday summer makeup routines, so here is mine if I decide to wear makeup that day.

I go for a more natural look on an everyday basis, and especially in the summer. These are the products that I have been using lately, on the days were I have been wearing makeup. I don’t wear makeup every single day, but quite often anyway. Some days I will only use a few of these products, or other products, but this is mainly what I use.

These are the makeup brushes I have been using lately. I have also been using a beauty sponge, however I haven’t found one that I like yet. I thought I wouldn’t mention it in this post, as I wouldn’t recommend it, but it is the Nicka K Airbrush one.

The first brush I use is the Luxie large angled face brush, I love it for bronzer and other cheek products too. Next to that I have the Real Techniques setting brush, that I like to use for powder on smaller areas of the face, and it works great for highlighter too.
Continuing with Real Techniques, I have their brow brush. I think it’s a great brush, even if it is slightly bigger then your normal brow brush. Then next to that I have the H&M brow and lash brush, which I think is a good brush considering it’s more affordable.

The first thing I use is concealer, and my all time favourite one is the Maybelline Fit Me concealer, I have mine in the shade 15. This is a perfect colour match for my skin tone, and has great coverage.

To set the concealer I have been using the ELF Translucent Mattifying powder with my Real Techniques setting brush. I think it does quite a good job setting my makeup, and making it last longer.

For bronzer I have been loving The Body Shop’s Honey bronzer in the shade 05. It works
the best for me in the summer time, but I can make it work with a lighter hand if I am not tan enough.

I have yet to find the perfect brow product, however I do quite like this one. This is the
Elizabeth Mott Queen of the Fill tinted brow gel in the shade light-medium. And you might be wondering, why is she using a brow brush for brow gel?
This is just a little too cool toned for my eyebrows, and the tiny applicator does apply quite a lot of product. But when I used a brush with it I just felt like it looked better and more natural.

I have found a new favourite mascara! I have been curling my lashes with an eyelash curler, and then using Maybelline’s Colossal Volume Exprees mascara, I just love how it separates my lashes but still gives to volume. I don’t like clumpy lashes on myself, and I was quite sceptical towards it in the beginning. However, I absolutely love it and I don’t regret buying it at all.

Then lastly for lips, I have been loving the Viva La Diva Superlicious lip gloss in the shade Romance. It’s a perfect everyday neutral pink, and it isn’t sticky at all.

And that’s everything! Thank you so much for reading, and thank you for doing this collab with me Holly!

Sleek Eyeshadow Palette Review

Hi everyone!

For this weeks post I thought I would do another review! As some of my fellow beauty bloggers might know, Sleek Makeup is a more affordable cosmetic brand that has come to be quite popular, especially during this past year. I have owned this palette for a few months now, and I am so excited to share with you all my thoughts on it.
By the way, do you want more reviews? Or do you prefer hauls? Make sure to comment down below, I really appreciate getting comments from you all<3

This is the Sleek Makeup I-Divine Eyeshadow Palette in a “A New Day”, and is one of many different ones that Sleek has launched. As you can see, mine is quite a neutral palette with matte browns, transition shades and some lighter colours. There is also some gorgeous foil type shadows that we will get into later. If this palette isn’t your thing, then there are other palettes with other kinds of colours with some added pop of colour. I have even seen a palette with loads of neon colours only. They have got everything, that’s what I am trying to say. I don’t know how those palettes are, but I know for sure that I love this palette.
I got mine from a H&M store, as they sell a lot of different makeup brands in the store I went to. It was about 100 kr/ 12$/ 10 £, which is quite a good price for what you get in my opinion.

So in this palette you get five matte eyeshadows, six foil type eyeshadow and one shimmer. There are a a lot of lighter shades in this palette, which I think is one reason why I love it so much. On a everyday basis I don’t use that many darker shades, so this palette is great for that, however I still do like the fact that there is some darker shades in here. It just makes the palette even more versatile.
You get a little double-sided eyeshadow applicator with the palette, but I just took it out as I never use those anyway.  We can also appreciate the fact that you get a nice big mirror, which is a huge plus. I am really impressed with the packaging, and the shade selection in this palette.

I know I am awful at swatching, but let’s look past that. These are the five matte shadows in the palette. I apologise that you can’t see the lighter shades, but there is a matte light shade in the middle.
The matte eyeshadows have a very smooth and buttery formula, the purple brown colour does have some fall out, but that is because it is the most soft and buttery one of them all. It is still pigmented so I don’t mind it really. For being a more affordable palette I think that the matte shadows are really nice, and they look very good on the eye. They also pair really well with the other shadows in the palette.

The shadows from left to right:

A really nice brown, grey colour that is cool toned. Great transition colour too.

*Let It Go
A warm toned light burnt orange shade. Works great as a soft crease colour.

*Be Happy
Light cream colour. A must have in a palette to set eyeshadow primer for example.

*Carpe Diem
A purple mauve shade, goes so well with the other shadows. Love this colour!

Dark chocolate brown. This is the darkest colour in the palette, great for the outer corners and with a lighter hand in the crease.

Can we just take a moment? Look at them!
When I got this palette I was very impressed with the foils. I call them that as in my eyes they basically are. Just look at the gold to the right! I only use my fingers to apply them as that is the easiest way in my opinion. Brushes just don’t pick up foils that well, and these are no exception. All of them except one glide one really smooth and pigmented.
Then the shimmer is the one that is the most to the left. I know you can’t really see it, but it looks better on the eye in my opinion. It feels very silky, and I have just recently started to use it.

The shadows from left to right:

*Feelin’ Good
An a ice white shimmer, great as an soft inner corner highlight.

White, reflective foil with undertones pink and bronze.

*Shine On
This is the foil that isn’t good. It is a gold, warm toned champagne shade, and it just isn’t really good. It is chunkier and less pigmented.

*Silver Lining
Cool toned silvery grey foil.

*Don’t Worry
Gold, bronze foil that has slight green undertones.

A rose gold shade. I love this one so much!

*Sun Is Shining
A gold, very reflective foil!

Over all I think this a great palette, especially for the price. There are a lot of different palettes, so you can probably find your favourite. This is actually one of my absolute favourite eyeshadow palettes, it’s just so handy and versatile. I hope you didn’t mind that this post is so long, let me know if you prefer them to be shorter or not!

As always, thank you so much for reading! By the way, can you count how many times I mentioned the word “Palette” in this post? Probably way too many haha! I counted to about twenty..

Tanya Burr Illuminating Powder Highlighter First Impressions and Review

Hi everyone!

Does anyone else get excited about highlighters? I know I do, and so when I saw Tanya’s new illuminating powders I had to get one. In this post I am going to be giving you my thoughts on one of her new illuminating powder highlighters.

First Impression (13/7):

If you have been keeping up with Tanya Burr Cosmetics, you will know that she launched three illuminating powders, as well as contour sticks and tinted lip balms in her “Chasing The Sun” summer collection. When I first saw what products she was launching, I knew I had to try something. I gravitated towards the illuminating powder highlighter (duh). I went on FeelUnique’s website and ordered it only two days after she launched it, which I was very excited about. The highlighter was about eight pounds, which is a very good price.

First of all, can we just discuss the packaging? I actually love the look of the packaging, I really think Tanya did a good job with designing it. This highlighter looks more like a high end product, it does feel a bit luxurious. The actual highlighter itself also looks super stunning, it is domed shaped and looks like a baked highlighter. By the way, doesn’t this remind you of the Hourglass ambient lighting powders?

Anyway, I ordered it in the lightest shade available, which is the shade “Champagne Sorbet”. She brought out more of a bronze colour, a pink one and this one which is intended as a highlighter. Judging from my first impressions I am not sure that it will fit my skin tone that well, if it was a bit lighter I think it would work better for me.
I can tell from swatching it on my hand that this is one of those highlighters that you can build up for more of a glow, more of a “real life” natural highlighter. Personally, I think that is quite a good thing. However, I noticed that there was quite a bit of glitter in this. That doesn’t necessary mean it’s bad, I just prefer a little less glitter in my highlight and more of a glow.
However, I am going to be trying this out anyway, as it seems to be a gorgeous highlighter!

Review (22/7):

I have used this highlighter quite a few times now, and I think that it just isn’t for me. It is too dark for me, however I can make it work, but I can also reach for a highlighter that is lighter. It does have glitter in it, which isn’t my favourite thing. But, for the price, it is a good highlighter if you have a darker skin tone. There is glitter in it, so if you don’t mind that then you will probably really like it. You can build it up for more of a blinding glow, or go for a more natural, dewy look. On me it doesn’t accentuate my pores either, which I like. It kind of has pink undertones too, as you can probably tell from the picture.

I think I can make it work if I am a bit more tan, however to be honest it is sadly a little bit too dark for me.
If I look straight forward, I can tell that the highlighter is there as it is a little bit too dark for my skin tone. However, it is not that noticeable. I can use it, but I would be aware of it not fitting my skin tone perfectly. I don’t have that fair skin, but anyone that has more of a tan skin tone it would look a lot better on.
You can tell that there is glitter in the highlight, which I am not a huge fan of. So if you don’t like highlighters with glitter in them, then you won’t like this. It still gives a pretty glow and feels creamy though.

– Is buildable, so you can go for either a more natural look or a more blinding look
– Would work for several different skin tones
– Smooth formula
– Doesn’t accentuate pores
– Pretty packaging
– Affordable price

-Not a wide shade range
– Only available online in a lot of countries

Over all I think it is a pretty good highlighter for the price, just not right for me. Even if it didn’t match my skin tone, I think Tanya created a shade that could work well on a lot of skin tones. Of course this is just my own personal opinions, so you have to try it for yourself to see how it works for you.

Thank you so much for reading as always!
